The ViniGeo iOS app is here — explore wine regions and track your collection
The ViniGeo wine app for iPhone is live on the App Store. Explore 1.6k+ wine regions on an interactive map and keep your wine collection organised on the go.
We're thrilled to announce that the ViniGeo iOS app is now available on the App Store. Everything you love about the ViniGeo interactive wine map now fits in your pocket — and we've added something new: a personal wine cellar to keep track of every bottle you own, taste, or want to try.
Whether you're standing in a wine shop, sitting at a restaurant, or planning your next trip through Burgundy, ViniGeo is now the fastest way to explore wine regions and organise your wine collection from your iPhone.
What you get in the app
The full interactive wine map with over 1.6k regions across four continents, smart filters for grape, style and region type, and a brand-new personal collection where you can save bottles, tag tasting notes and revisit the regions you've already explored.
Discover new wine regions on the go
Wine geography is best understood visually. The ViniGeo app lets you zoom from a global overview down to a single appellation — see exactly where Châteauneuf-du-Pape sits inside the Southern Rhône, how Barolo and Barbaresco neighbour each other in Piedmont, or how the Mosel snakes between its steepest vineyards.
With the iOS app you can:
- Explore wine regions worldwide from your phone — no laptop required.
- Filter by grape variety, wine style or region type to surface places that match your taste.
- Tap any region to see its grapes, climate context and surrounding appellations.
- Use the map offline-friendly experience while travelling through wine country.
If you enjoyed a wine at dinner, you can pull out your phone, find the region in seconds, and instantly understand the context behind the bottle.
Track your wine collection in one place
The biggest new feature for the launch is the personal wine collection. Most wine drinkers I know keep a messy mix of phone photos, scribbled notes, and half-remembered restaurant favourites. ViniGeo brings that all together.
In your collection you can:
- Save bottles you own, want to try, or have tasted.
- Attach short tasting notes so you remember why you loved (or didn't love) a wine.
- See each bottle pinned to its region on the map, turning your collection into a personal wine atlas.
- Spot patterns over time — maybe you keep gravitating to cool-climate Pinot Noir, or you've never tried a wine from the Loire.
It's the wine collection app I always wanted: simple, visual, and connected to the same map you use to explore.
Built for curious drinkers and serious students
ViniGeo is for anyone who wants to understand wine more deeply. That includes:
- Wine enthusiasts who want a smarter way to remember bottles and regions.
- WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, and WSG students preparing for certification exams.
- Travellers planning trips through Bordeaux, Tuscany, Napa, Mendoza or any other wine region.
- Restaurant guests and shoppers who want quick context on an unfamiliar label.
Seeing a region on a map — instead of just reading about it — creates a stronger mental model. Combined with your own tasting notes, every bottle you drink becomes part of a bigger picture.
How to get the ViniGeo iOS app
The app is free to download on the App Store. Search for ViniGeo in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad, install, and sign in to sync your collection across devices.
An Android version is on the roadmap — if you'd like to be notified when it ships, let us know.
We'd love your feedback
This is just the first version of the mobile experience. We're actively shipping improvements to the map, the collection, and the way the two work together. If something feels missing — a feature, a region, a grape — please reach out. ViniGeo gets better every time a wine lover tells us what they need next.
Cheers, and welcome to a more visual way to explore wine.
